Something of a local celebrity wedding this week! There are a couple of clues below….see if you can guess who it is before you get to picture 4.
But first of all, let’s take a look at Danielle’s beautiful engagement ring. Specially cleaned and all ready to be joined by her wedding ring.

We were at the Old Kent Barn. And it was very early in the morning. So early that beautiful light was flooding through the huge windows, lighting up the girls as they were getting ready and providing perfect light for make up and hair.

And with the leaves just starting to change colour and the beautiful soft morning light, Danielle even had time to stroll around the grounds with her mother. This also gave her an opportunity to check out the marquee because she was leaving nothing to chance (she needn’t have worried – it looked amazing!)

Now be honest. I said it was a celebrity wedding but you still don’t know who it is, do you? How about a clue……

This is Danielle Beardsley, personal fitness trainer and member of the expert panel at Your Kent Wedding and A Kentish Wedding magazines. You may also remember her from the rather cool Bridal Bootcamp shoot I did earlier in the year. But this time was for real. And she left her trainers at home….

Anyway….back to the wedding ![]()
Down at St Peter’s church in Oare it was standing room only.

Fortunately, due to sharp elbows, a long lens and a very steady hand I had a great view as Danielle Beardsley and Rui Merrells were married.

And then signed the register.

Back at the Old Kent Barn the light was still rather lovely and we had time for some pictures in their fabulous grounds. Such as the gazebo…

…and down by the lake. (By the way, can you figure out why some rather cheeky people started referring to the bridesmaids as “the Dairy Milk Trio”? That’s Sian, Faye and Tuesday. Honestly.)

Oh and remember that I said the marquee looked amazing? Well it looked great to start with. Then Sarah from Ambience added a few finishing touches and Jacqui from Simply Flowers brought in some incredible flower arrangements and, well see for yourself….

And the food from Scott Anderson was rather scrummy too.

And when everything about the venue is perfect, it just needs your best friends to make a few finishing touches to the room for Danielle and Rui to retire to after a fabulous day.

But regular viewers of the website will know that I can never resist one last portrait after dark. I started doing these almost 3 years ago when I first moved to Kent and they are a wonderful way to round off the day. But I may have found the best ever venue for night portraits……

Danielle and Rui are enjoying a hard earned rest now but they will be back soon and there will be more pictures! You can leave messages for them below.
