So it’s October. And you know what that means. The rain’s slightly cooler than it is in August!
Joking apart a couple of people said to me what a shame the small amount of drizzle we had was. Well, today it’s raining pretty hard and Friday was torrential. I think Emma and Dan were pretty lucky with the weather for their wedding at Broome Park. Plus, when did a little rain spoil the fun? Cameras can take a beating, my clothes will dry and there’s always a polka dot umbrella when you need one.
So…let’s start with the guys.
Here they are – well most of them! Dan in the middle and some of his groomsmen all looking perfectly turned out.
However, I have a puzzle for you. I reckon that most people can spot their mates from the beer they drink and how they hold it. Take a look at this next shot and leave me a comment below if you know who it is.
I’ll bet all the guys can.
Anyway…then there were the girls. Beautifully turned out like the chaps. But louder. Quite a bit louder. Especially when looking at pictures from the Hen Night.
And then of course the bridesmaids. Charlotte, Kim and Erica. Looking absolutely fabulous.
While Amelia and Archie checked the rain “situation”.
And not forgetting Emma herself. Who was looking, well, wow!
With an open air wedding scheduled for 2 pm all eyes were on the sky. But really there was no need. The rain the day before had taken its toll and chairs would have sunk into the mud. Fortunately, Broome Park has a rather fabulous “backup plan” – an absolutely gorgeous marriage room flooded with amazing light.
Which allowed me to capture the moment when Dan first set eyes on his beautiful bride.
And then…..they were married. And I think everybody was pretty pleased about that.
But you know the thing about rain? It makes for great pictures. It cleans all the dust out of the air, brightens things up and makes everything fresh. Oh and it makes for cool reflections in puddles too.
But then with such a wonderful couple and beautiful venue, how could I really complain about anything? Of yes, the dress and flowers were pretty nice too.
And also check out Anna Morley! She’s going to be trading as “Cakeface Cupcakes” and if they taset anything like they look she’s going to be really busy. (Anna….that’s a hint that I love cupcakes…..)
Loads (and loads) more pictures when Emma and Dan get back from honeymoon. Please leave your comments and wishes for them below.
And finally a HUGE thanks to Simon for helping out with the lighting. He missed out on valuable drinking time to help me give some of the portraits an extra pop.
