Gilly and Mark at Bradbourne House

Meet Gilly.  Gilly likes to climb trees.  A lot.  I’m not sure she wears posh frocks that often.  But when she does she still loves to climb trees.  And there was no way I was going to stop her….

Anyway, you can’t blame her.  Especially when her dress has already had approval from the legend that is Jon Bon Jovi.

Still, you have to admit it looks better actually on her

As for Mark, well I tracked him down in a groom’s natural habitat…..

And then….it was time for a wedding!

But if you know Mark well, you’ll know that he’s not one to wear a tie too often.  Or fasten his top button ever.  Still Gilly saw to that….

But you’ve got to admit….that’s quite a wedding ring.

Both Gilly and Mark are mad about animals.  And the requested shot list from the day featured a long list from the normal to the not so normal.  Sadly we didn’t see any Jackdaws all day – though we did get cats, swans and ducks.  Here was one of the more normal ones…

After the wedding at St Mary’s Stansted (Kent not Essex!) the reception was at the fabulous Bradbourne House.  There were many many highlights here but these are some of my favourites.

The cake….

C’mon….if you were going to Disneyworld for the first time in your life for your honeymoon and you’d finally got the visas sorted out just a few hours before the wedding…..what would your cake look like?  Thought so.

The formal picture of the bridemaids.  Some shots speak for themselves and some need a little explanation.  I don’t think any words are needed for this.  It’s just the bride stamping on one of her bridesmaids in stilettos while the other bridemaid looks on in horror.  Pretty normal stuff….

And of course there were the awesome “bags of fire”.  Of sky lanterns as most people call them.  Imagine 50 people who had maybe had a glass or two of champers trying to light 50 very flammable paper bags in a light breeze.  Tell you what, don’t imagine, I’ll show you….

Apparently most UFO sighting are caused by sky lanterns now.  Fact.  Well it’s in the Chorley Citizen.

But one of my favourite memories will always be Gilly and Mark dancing to their favourite Guns n Roses……
