It was going to be an epic day. Lauren and Tom had been planning for nearly 3 years and nothing was going to stop them having the time of their lives. And on one of the most perfect days of the late summer, nothing did stop them.
As I’ve said before, most wedding stories start with a dress. After all, without a dress you just have a girl in rollers waiting for her big day, under a suitably epic sky.
Bridesmaid too look a little, well under dressed without their dresses.
But put them together, and you get this….
…not to mention this….
In fact, with a few last minute tweaks to the buttons…and the l-o-n-g walk down the stairs I like to call “the deep breath before the leap”…
…here’s the result.
That’s the moment when Keith, Lauren’s father, couldn’t bear to look at his daughter. And couldn’t bear not to. Lauren all grown up and ready to get married.
Few last minute preps in the garden (did I mention it was a gorgeous day?)
..and then her chariot awaited.
Meanwhile, over at Cooling Castle Barn, Tom was all ready for us.
The groomsmen were ready too – and even labelled for me.
Moments later, Lauren Lindenberg arrived…
Before the second walk down the stairs of the day. This time with rather more people watching.
And then, as I’ve said before about so many wonderful couples on so many beautiful days, Lauren Lindenberg married Tom Jarrett.
Cooling Castle Barn is a lovely venue. But since everything is in one place, you don’t get too many chances to use the amazing car you hired. So we went for a drive..
Tom looked pretty good.
And so did Lauren.
But they look even better together…
…and then back to Cooling Castle Barn.
And of course time for dinner and speeches.
Before a concerted effort to drive a knife through what must have been 20 kilos of choccywoccydoodah chocolate cake.
And of course the first dance.
