OK.  So we have a 14th century monks’ holiday home, one of the coolest ideas for buttonholes I’ve ever seen, a tiny chapel packed to the rafters, real actual singing during a wedding ceremony and a load of pictures.  Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Pete and Jo Experience.

No, I have no idea what happened in volume 1…..

[By the way, Joanne and Peter booked me just 10 days before their wedding and I was only there for 3 hours.  They got a great price! If you’re getting married soon and need minimal coverage then get in touch – I’m happy to fill up the blanks in my diary to fit your budget.  Oh and if you think 10 days for a photographer is cutting it fine, they are booking their honeymoon today and hope to fly “somewhere” tomorrow….)

First off that great idea for button holes.  Jo and Pete had arranged a couple of trays of daffodils and poppies.  Guests could choose their own flowers and raise a little money for charity at the same time.  Awesome.

Back on track.  Here’s the dress.  A gorgeous beaded gown from White Rose.

Looks pretty nice doesn’t it?  Yes, but wait until you see it with Jo inside it.

Wow.  Which is pretty much what Pete was saying as she walked down the aisle on her father John’s arm.

Of course, weddings are getting pretty competitive now.  I’d already “agreed terms” with the videographer.  But at a wedding, everybody is a photographer.  Everybody.

As I mentioned in the intro, it was pretty cosy in the chapel at Salmestone Grange.  I guess it will comfortably hold about 50.  So with 77 guests they were pretty much spilling out of the doors.  Just as well everybody was close friends who were there to see Peter and Joanne get married.

When we had our pre wedding meeting, Peter and Jo told me that they chose Salmestone Grange because of its beautiful grounds and chapel.  They said they were amazed that lots of pictures of wedding there on the web didn’t really show this.  I made sure that we made full use of the grounds for the pictures and also captured some gorgeous details to spark their memories of the day such as this wonderful stained glass made by John Trinnick.

But of course, weddings are all about people.

And something tells me that these two were spotted in their natural environment, ready for a cool pint on a hot day.

I’m going to keep some of the pictures of Pete and Jo back as a special treat for when they get back – including my soon to be trade marked “bride in a tree” shot…  But I’ll leave you with this one of them in the open air chapel.  Near what Peter likes to refer to as the sacrificial table….

Nobody knows where the honeymoon is or when they will be back!  But you can be sure that they will read your comments and wishes for them below.  And there will be lots more pictures when they get back.
