Sarah and Corey at Courtstairs

July 1, 2007  |  Weddings

Talk about relaxed! Seriously, I can’t remember ever turning up at a bride’s house where they were so ready and so relaxed before. Sarah even found time to play a quick hand of cards before the wedding. Just don’t ask who won…

Since the weather forecast was wrong and instead of heavy continuous rain we had glorious sunshine I thought it would be nice to go out into the garden. There was the odd muddy patch from the heavy rain the day before. Sarah and her bridesmaids didn’t mind though – they posed beautifully for me. However, I’d only met Sarah briefly twice before the wedding (she and Corey flew in from their home in San Diego) but even I knew that somebody was bound to get pushed over pretty soon.

Then it dawned on her, with just a few minutes to go Sarah was about to marry the man of her dreams – OK really what happened was I said “hey look nervous like they do in all those bridal mags” and Sarah played along. C’mon, you didn’t think this was going to be a serious wedding did you?

To everybody’s delight, the weather held and the wedding took place in the garden of Courstairs. The inside room is lovely but you just can’t beat an open air wedding – even if the sea air is a little “bracing“.

As I mentioned, Sarah and Corey live in San Diego, California. I’m guessing a beautiful venue right next to the beach is nothing really that new for them. Pegwell Bay isn’t quite La Jolla but with your new wife next to you on a beautiful Kent day (OK, the wind was freezing) I think it might have come close for Corey.
