A picture perfect day. In a picture perfect venue. With a picture perfect couple. Produces pictures that are….well, you decide…
Just a perfect day at Gaynes Park in Essex. Sun shining, birds tweeting, etc etc.. Yeah I know, you just want to see pictures of dresses and flowers and happy people…
If you don’t mind, I’m going to race through the preliminaries. After all, you know what happens at a wedding and although I love the early images, the light just got better all day and later on it really became special.
So….there is of course a dress.
And of course some rather lovely flowers from Paula Gibson Flowers…
And where would we be without sparkly shoes?
But these are really just the appetisers.
Over in the Orangery, bride Sian Dare was getting her hair done….
(Actually, you might recognise Sian – I photographed her brother Dan’s wedding to Joanne back in December last year.)
And of course, the guys were busy with a Pink Porsche…
Meanwhile things were progressing (I said I was going to fast forward a bit) and Sian was taking the long walk down the stairs – prior to the even longer walk down the aisle.
With just a momentary pause by Richard to prepare himself for the view of his bride.
And then, almost as soon as it stated, the wedding was complete. Sian and Richard were married.
Because of course, everybody was really there for the party. And the fun.
And of course the odd “formal” picture.
There’s always a tradition of meeting new people at weddings. And occasionally a couple just seem to hit it off straight away. Like these two.
So anyway….I said that the light got beautiful later in the day. In fact it almost always does – the later I can take photos the happier I am. For example, the pergola looks pretty nice any time of day.
But wait for the right moment, add bride and groom….and it kind of looks like this…
In fact, you sometimes don’t even need the bride.
But add them together, throw in a lovely old wall, a rather cool mirror and just a bit of lucky flare and well…
Anyway, everybody was getting hungry by now. They do a rather nice wedding breakfast at Gaynes Park.
And of course, Sian and Richard had planned every last detail.
Bravely Sian decided to make her own speech at the wedding rtaher than leaving everything to Richard.
Before that all important first dance.
Did I mention that the light usually gets better later in the day? Just time for a couple of pictures in the fading light after dinner.
I can see this catching on for group shots too.
